It is such a privilege and honour to be able to take over the reins of such a wonderful community pharmacy, Hilton Pharmacy from the 1st of October. I have watched Trish closely over the years build a solid, reputable and trusted business in Hilton and the love and care that she has for the community and her staff has made this small business the great success that it is.
Thrive was born out of a vision to see community pharmacy becoming a complete health and wellness destination. National Road Pharmacy in Maytime Kloof (which I have owned since 2005) was a pharmacy similar to Hilton Pharmacy, a much loved part of the community and in 2016, we successfully transformed into Thrive – better than well, a beautiful space which combines pharmacy, health and wellness and a juice bar. I was fortunate enough to have Kevin Hedderwick, a well-known businessman and former group CEO of JSE-listed Famous Brands, acquire an equity and strategic stake in Thrive last year with a view to unlocking the growth potential of the brand. We launched our second store in Ballito in March this year and are so excited to be able to introduce our Thrive brand to Hilton as it has a community feel similar to Kloof with an active and health conscious approach to lifestyle.
Thrive focuses on a holistic approach to lifestyle and health combining preventative approaches to treating illness as well as traditional allopathic solutions. Thrive aims to support local, organic and natural suppliers where possible and believes in an educated and professional approach to giving advice and imparting knowledge.
Thrive is thrilled to be able to partner with Kim, a much loved pharmacist at Hilton Pharmacy, who will take over the reins and manage the store. We are humbled that we have been entrusted by Trish to continue the legacy that she has built up with the Hilton community and look forward to growing the bond even stronger and establishing close ties with the community as we convert to Thrive Hilton and aim to keep Hilton community Better than well.
