Having had the honour of being of service to Hilton residents for the past 21 years, I am so proud to be handing over the keys to a new generation of pharmacists. That symbolism of the 21st key being handed over to a younger generation perfectly illustrates the changing of ownership of Hilton Pharmacy.
Lynda and Kim represent this new generation. They have passion and drive to introduce innovative and world-class healthcare and lifestyle solutions, while ensuring the continuation of our down-to-earth community pharmacy ethos. It is such a pleasure to hand over to these intrepid pharmacists, knowing that our community will benefit, without losing the local touch you appreciate so much.
For the past 21 years, you – the community of Hilton – have put your faith in me and the team at our pharmacy to deliver quality service and medical care. Thank you for giving me and our pharmacy this opportunity to serve you. I have absolutely cherished every customer who has walked through these doors. We have seen your children grow into adults, we have helped your parents through some of their toughest years, and we have been by your side through your ups and downs.
Our pharmacy is a collective of dedicated service-minded individuals. Everyone, from my fellow pharmacists and pharmacist assistants and nurses, to the sales staff and administration team, and our cleaning staff, has made the pharmacy that special place it is, where our customers have felt welcomed and looked after, day after day, year after year. That has especially been evident during this challenging year, when the Covid-19 pandemic brought us all together as a community. While I may be leaving, this incredible team remains and will continue to provide you with the service and care you know and trust.
It has been a passion and a privilege to serve such a graceful and resilient community. As I say farewell, like that 21-year-old seeking independence and possibility, I too must take a step into the unknown. How special to know that the cycle of life always has something to give, despite the losses we have all encountered. We keep growing and we keep pushing forward to new adventures.
Those adventures include spending more time with my growing family. My sons James, William and Matthew are all parents now, and my grandchildren are so excited to spend time with their granny. I look forward to slow days, a book and some sun. I certainly look forward to life after Covid-19. When those international borders open and it is safe to travel, I look forward to being that 21-year-old adventurer. There is so much to see.
May your journeys be happy ones, may you rise up when you fall, and may you remain that incredible community that has given so much joy and meaning to me and my family.
